All About The Christmas Nativity Scenes

View Our Online Store:  Christmas Nativity Scene.

For many families, a Christmas nativity is the most important part of their Holiday décor.  A Christmas nativity typically consists of the baby Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, Mary's husband.  Some sets are more elaborate.  A nativity scene is a replica of Jesus' birth.  For many people, this and only this, is the reason we have Christmas. It is the focal point of their Holiday season and the reason they give gifts and celebrate the day.  Christmas day is the celebration of Jesus' birth.

A Christmas nativity set really is a treasured gift for many people.  These sets are among some of the most popular gifts that are given during the Holidays.  These sets can be made out of many different types of wood, ceramics, plastics, glass, and crystal.  They can vary from fairly inexpensive to real budget busters.  It just depends on what someone is looking for, and what appeals to them.

Since purchasing a Christmas nativity can be costly, depending on what someone would like, people tend to start small by just purchasing baby Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.  This can be a great jumping off point when it comes to Christmas gifts.  There are quite a few other pieces that can be added year after year.  There are the Three Wise Men, their camels, and their gifts that they brought with them.  Then, there are other animals such as oxen, cows, donkeys, and sheep that can be included.  There is the shepherd and his flock of sheep, palm trees, the Inn keeper, and we cannot forget to mention the heavenly hosts of angels as well.  One is really only limited to the set that they purchase, what other accessories the set offers, and the space in which the nativity set will be displayed.

Having a Christmas nativity set doesn't mean one has to be limited to just a single set either.  Since many people have different tastes depending on the room they are decorating, it is not unusual to see more than one set throughout a home.  Someone that has a formal living room would probably want a more formal set.  The family room tends to be a more relaxed environment, and one would probably not choose to have their most expensive set displayed in that room.

Let’s not keep the set just inside of our homes either.  There are many amazing outdoor sets available too.  Many of them are made of thick plywood or pine.  Others are made of a plastic resin, and some are even inflatable.  These sets are also built around baby Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.  These can be made in spectacular fashion as well.  Many are cut out to be life sized, including the Three Wise Men, shepherds, sheep, camels, and other animals.  These sets can be added to as well.  Just picture the scene taking up ones entire yard, which is quite possible.  You can add a few palm trees, fences, and the Inn that was so full that Mary and Joseph had to stay in a stable.  When creating the nativity outdoors, really it is as endless as ones imagination.  This is also a great place to incorporate any outdoor lighting.  One can have a lighted star of Bethlehem, a spot light on the manger scene, the Wise Men, and other up lights on any palm trees or other pieces.  This is truly a festive way to decorate ones yard and celebrate the reason for the season.
