The artificial Christmas tree you buy will usually come in three sections. You can identify the section that goes directly into the tree stand because the end of the pole is usually crimped, almost to a point. The next or middle section is usually the next biggest section, and the last section is the top, it can look like a small tree. The branches of the tree will usually be tied together when you open the box. The best way to shape the tree is to let down one row of branches at a time, tie the rest back up and shape the branches you let down. You will want to set up, shape, and plug in the lights of each section of the tree separately.
Christmas tree shop step # 1. Place the first large bottom section of your hinged artificial Christmas tree branches into your tree stand. Start with the bottom row of large artificial Christmas tree branches and gently pull down each large branch in the bottom row only. Tie up the remaining upper rows of the large artificial Christmas tree branches in the closed position with a peace of rope or a bungee cord that will fit around the closed branches. Note: The rope or bungee cord is not provided with your artificial Christmas tree. Work on one row at a time so you will not skip any of the artificial Christmas tree branches.
Pick one of the large bottom branches and find the short attached branches closest to the trunk of the artificial Christmas tree. As shown in the Christmas tree picture pull out the short branches angling them towards you. Now bend these small branches so that they will have a gentle curve in them as shown on the right in the first Christmas tree picture in step # 2. Remember to create a gentle curve, not a square bend.
Now push your two gently curved artificial Christmas tree branches in a upward and outward direction as shown in the Christmas tree picture on the right.
Christmas tree shop step # 4. Find the next set of small artificial Christmas tree branches and repeat Christmas tree shop step # 2. Now push these two curved branches in an downward and outwards direction as shown in the Christmas tree step # 6.
As you move out towards the tip of your large artificial Christmas tree branch try to vary the distances of your upward and downward bends like the Christmas tree picture shown to the right. Try not to create any straight lines with the small artificial Christmas tree branches as you move outwards. Remember that you want a full and dense tree just like our Christmas tree picture from the Prelit Christmas Trees and Pre-Lit Artificial Christmas Trees page. Christmas tree shop hint: If you have a section of Three small artificial Christmas tree branches instead of two, place the third small artificial Christmas tree branch in an upper center position. With four small artificial Christmas tree branch sections, you will put two branches upward and two branches downward so it will look like the artificial Christmas tree picture. If there is a bare wire or an unsightly tip on the end of your large branch, take one of the small end branches and wrap it tightly around the artificial Christmas tree branch end hiding the unsightly tip. This will make your artificial Christmas tree look like the artificial Christmas tree picture. Christmas tree shop step # 5. Work row by row to the upper part of the tree section. When you complete a section, add the next section. Continue up to the last section or small tree at the top. The artificial Christmas tree top section will be shaped differently. Shaping your artificial Christmas tree top or the small 2 to 3 foot tall Christmas tree to look just like the artificial Christmas tree picture. Christmas tree shop step # 6. Start with the bottom row of the artificial Christmas tree top branches and shape these artificial Christmas tree larger multi tip branches in the same manor used in Christmas tree shop step # 2 as shown in the artificial Christmas tree picture. When you reach the single artificial Christmas tree branches attached to the tree trunk bend a gentle curve as shown in the artificial Christmas tree picture. Take the gently curved artificial Christmas tree branch and bend it downward in a low deep dip as shown in the artificial Christmas tree picture on the right. Repeat this step until you reached the top row of artificial Christmas tree branches on the artificial Christmas tree. Christmas tree shop step # 7. The top long artificial Christmas tree branch (usually is much longer) is bent straight and pointing straight up to the sky. See picture below. Just like in the artificial Christmas trees for sale.
Christmas tree shop step # 8. To finish shaping the treetop hold the top long straight artificial Christmas tree branch with one hand. Now start pulling the top row of artificial Christmas tree branches upwards gently by their tip, with your other hand until the branch tip is about two to three inches away from the base of the top long artificial Christmas tree branch. Try not to pull the gentle bend out of the artificial Christmas tree branch. Usually there are only 3 or 4 top row artificial Christmas tree branches. Work your way around the tree spacing the artificial Christmas tree branches equally apart like the Pre Lit artificial Christmas Trees and Pre Lit Christmas Trees. Now start pulling the second row of artificial Christmas tree branches upwards gently by their tips and placing the artificial Christmas tree branches between the first, top row of artificial Christmas tree branches. Continue downward tell you are finished with the single artificial Christmas tree branches, making the tree top look full with no holes or gaps. Just like the artificial Christmas tree picture from the artificial Christmas trees for sale. Christmas tree shop step # 9. When you are finished put the artificial Christmas tree top on the artificial Christmas tree trunk pole. Where the sections meet make sure the artificial Christmas tree branches blend together. Using the techniques you have learned, blend the artificial Christmas tree sections together. Make sure the artificial Christmas tree branches blend together naturally like the Christmas tree picture. How should you store my Christmas tree after the holidays? Make sure that you do not use the box that your tree came in for storage. Since your tree is now shaped stuffing it back into the original box will only make shaping the tree next year more difficult. The lights will be less likely to break or wires damaged if the tree is stored in a bigger storage box or Christmas tree storage bags. Remember that dust, moisture and small creatures presents the most common dangers to your stored tree.Try to use a climate controlled area to store your tree.
