Gingerbread Ornaments

History of Gingerbread:
The Ginger root comes from Malaysia, which is a peninsula from Thailand, which is in Southeast Asia. The use of Ginger has been around for thousands of years, by medieval times pepper was the most popular spice in Europe, but the second most popular was Ginger. Gingerbread was so popular that fairs were known as Gingerbread fairs. Gingerbread was a wonderful treat because it could be made into a cookie, a snap, or a cake. Depending on the season it might be shaped like a heart, a Gingerbread Man Ornament, flowers, birds, or a Ginger Cane Cookie Christmas Tree Ornaments. Gingerbread making became so popular and such an art that in some countries only a Gingerbread baker could make it, in other countries there were guilds of master bakers who alone could make Gingerbread.
Gingerbread became so popular that it didnt take long for it to be a holiday treat, something special with recipes found in many a Christmas Cookie Book. It wasnt long until people began making Gingerbread houses, I guess all those Gingerbread people have to live somewhere, like Our First Gingerbread Home. While others began to string Gingerbread together to create Gingerbread Garland, something that could be put on the Christmas tree or simply hung around the house. Here in America we are very fortunate to have probably the greatest selection of Gingerbread treats, because we have people from all over the world come here to live and they bring their traditional Gingerbread recipes from their native lands. We also have a large selection of Gingerbread Ornaments for the very same reason. So put the diet aside, grab an ice cold glass of milk, some Gingerbread cookies, cake or snaps and sit back and simply enjoy the moment.
