How to Create a Christmas Tree Forest.

Choosing the Location.

The first thing to do is asses the space you have to work with. Some single storey homes have tall skinny windows on either one side of the door or on both sides. There is also usually a longish wall leading to the back of the Foyer. This would be the perfect place for your Tree Forest in this style of home. In a two storey home there is usually a wall that gradually rises with the staircase, so that the back part of the wall is taller than the front. A Tree Forest works very well in filling the empty space in the taller portion of that wall and is also a beautiful accent for stair rails. Do not forget Kids room with their own small 2' or 3' Christmas tree. If there is not an electrical socket near by you can always use Battery Operated Lights.

Once you have chosen the spot you want to use you will need to take some measurements. You need to know how high your ceiling is, how much room you have along the wall you will use and how far out from the wall you can come.

Choosing your Christmas Trees.

The next thing to do is decide if you want to use live Christmas Trees. They can be purchased in different sizes and they add a very nice pine scent. The other option is Artificial Pine Christmas Trees. Artificial Trees are beautiful as well. They come in a wide variety of sizes and can be purchased with or without lights. Which ever you choose you will need at least 3 to 5 in different heights. For a smaller, single storey space you will need one 7.5 to 9 foot Slim Norway Pine Pre Lit Christmas Tree, depending on your ceiling height, one 4 to 6.5 foot Slim Norway Pine Pre Lit Christmas Tree and one 3 foot Pre Lit Artificial Christmas Tree. If you have a two storey Foyer then you could choose as many as 5 trees. I recommend using an uneven number of them and maybe choose two 7.5 to 9 foot trees, one 4 to 6.5 foot Artificial Christmas Trees and two 3 foot Small Artificial Christmas Trees. In either case you can fill the gaps between trees with smaller 2 foot Miniature Artificial Christmas Trees.

Shepherds and the Nativity.

Shepherds.
When people think of the Nativity, the Holy Family and the three Wise Men are often thought of. Also, the angel who announced Jesus birth. But who did the angel announce the birth of Christ to? The shepherds. The shepherds were said to be out in the field attending to their herd of sheep when a bright star shone bright in the sky. Then an angel appeared before them and said to not be afraid for their newborn king had been born. Some of the more infamous shepherds are Gabriel, Matthew and Micah. For more information on Shepherds and the Nativity. To view Nativity Figurines. For more information on Shepherds and the Nativity.

Gabriel.
Gabriel was a young boy who liked to daydream. He did not care much for tending sheep. He spent his days daydreaming of faraway places. His mother would pack his lunch, and when he would set out the food to eat, he would pretend he was eating a glorious feast. One day he came skipping down a slope, pretending to be a bird. The flock was being walked to a different grassland to be fed. Before he knew it, he heard a thud and turned around to see a baby lamb wedged between a rock. Apparently, the lamb had been following Gabriel, and not the rest of the sheep. Gabriel pulled the little lamb from the rock and hoisted him on his shoulders. Gabriel went and followed the flock. When they stopped to set up camp, Gabriel put the little lamb down next to him. He checked the lambs legs out and found nothing wrong. The little lamb was dazed, but he stood up and joined the rest of the flock. To view our entire Christmas Nativity Scene. For more Christmas Decorations Ideas.

Santa Accessories

Santa Beards and Wigs:
Every year thousands of people dress up as Santa Claus and they look for a Professional Santa Wig and Beard Set as either a professional Santa or as dad dressing up for his children. For even more go to Christmas Decorations Ideas.

Santa Belts:
Santa is commonly known for having a very wide black belt which helps to hold in his large tummy. There are Santa Belts With Decorative Cast Buckle and basic Black Santa Claus Belts.

Santa Toy Bag:
Of course every child knows that Santa is the giver of gifts and those gifts are carried in a Red Plush Santa Toy Bags. Aside from seeing Santa himself, nothing brings a bigger smile to the face of a child than seeing Santas toy bag filled with gifts for all.

Santa Suit Stuffer:
Not all people who play Santa have a big round tummy that shakes like a bowl full of jelly when they laugh. For these individuals there is the Santa Suit Stuffer. After all you cant really have a skinny Santa running around, he would just look out of place.

Santa Suspenders:
Usually the Black Santa Claus Belts is merely for decoration and the pants can fall down even with an elastic band in them. The best choice is to use a pair of Suspenders Santa Claus Suit Accessories to keep those pants up, after all, we want people laughing with Santa and not at him!

Santa Gloves and Glasses:
Since the mid twentieth century Santa Claus has typically been shown wearing either Round Santa Glasses or Rectangular Santa Glasses often sat on the end of his nose. And to keep those hands warm use White Knit Cotton Santa Claus Gloves.

Outdoor Christmas Decorating Tips.

Decorating Your Front Door.

The purpose for decorating at Christmas time is to provide an atmosphere that will make all your friends and family feel warm, cheerful and most of all welcome in your home. With this in mind the first place to start is the outside of your front door. One idea is to drape a lush strand of real or Artificial Garland around the top of the door or a real or Artificial Christmas Wreath. Either type of Garland or Wreath can be lit with Mini Christmas Light Bulb Sets or C7, C9 Outdoor Christmas Lights or a combination. You can easily hang Shatterproof Ornament Balls by using some green floral wire. You might also want to add some small floral picks with holly berries or other types of red berries or even some snow frosted greenery picks. Adding a couple strands of Iridescent White Berry Spray will add the effect of glistening snow. Velvet Ribbon bows add a nice touch of color and are easy to make.

Decorating Your Front Yard.

Another fun way to add some Christmas Sparkle to the front of your home is to decorate the pathway or sidewalk leading to your front door. Use C9 Outdoor Christmas Lights which come in a variety of colors, attached to hard plastic Universal Lawn Light Stakes. This forms a fence like effect. As well as a range of colors to choose from, you can also choose whether the lights will twinkle or not. There are several styles of Luminaries you can choose from which cover the C9 lights and give a reflection of snowmen, angels or Christmas trees to name a few. There are even Snowmen or Large Nutcrackers or Large Toy Soldiers that you can use to line your pathway or stand beside your door to greet your guests. Dont forget the Outdoor Illuminated Nativity Scene that reminds us all of the reason for our Christmas Celebration.

Football Ornaments

American Football:
The first person paid to play football was William Heffelfinger also called Pudge; he was paid 500 dollars in 1892 to play for Allegheny against Pittsburgh. Of course American Football started earlier than this. Football type games had been around for many years in Europe and in the Americas, often the rules and even the name of the game varied from school to school. In those days it was more running or kicking, looking very similar to a rugby game. But the big change came from Walter Camp, known as the Father of American Football, he helped create many rule changes to differentiate the game and create uniform system. Throughout his life he wrote books and gave lectures about the game he loved. Football became one of the most popular sports, drawing in large crowds, even Santa Claus Playing Football. To get more Christmas Decorations Ideas, go here.

Sports Ornaments:
There are all kinds of football decorations for the fan to enjoy, from the Collegiate Football Star to Football Moms Sports Christmas Ornaments. Most people enjoy decorating their Christmas Trees Artificial with their favorite types of ornaments, whither Angel Ornaments or Sports Ornaments and everything in between. There are ornaments for children such as the African American Football Gifts For Boys or even for the child who will grow up to be Our Next Pro Quarterback.

Playing the Game:
As with most games the object is to finish with more points than your opponent. A game of football is broken up into 4 quarters each lasting 15 minutes, two quarters make a half, and at the end of the first half is the halftime break. The football field where the game is played is 120 yards long, including ten yards for the end zone at either end.

Christmas Books

Christmas Cook Books:
Christmas Books with feasts and parties are a wonderful family tradition, and of course for these events you need Christmas treats. Wither a small or large gathering of friends and family for a mingle served with Christmas Cookies book or a sit down Cozy Country Cookbook dinner, there are recipes that will have your friends coming back for more. These are a few of my favorite Christmas Cookbooks. In some of these books there is a section with stories written by people from all over that tell of their holiday memories or traditions. For more great Christmas Decorations Ideas, go here.

A Special Place for Santa:
This is an excellent book that tells the origin and story of Santa Claus and his role at Christmas time. Many Christian parents have been concerned with the commercialization of Christmas and view Santa as its agent, which could take away from the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. This book helps to tie the two together, by starting when Nicholas was a Bishop in Turkey to becoming a saint to his transformation to Santa Claus. This book is a wonderful way to remind your children of the importance of Christmas and to help them not to just want to receive gifts but also to give gifts which will warm their hearts for many years to come. Decorating for the Holidays.

Holiday Decorating Tips.

I can think of few things more inviting than a home decorated all cozy and warm for the Holidays. There is something special about Christmas decorations that just makes people feel comfortable and at peace. Have you ever been to someones home during the Holidays and just felt all your stress and cares vanish as soon as you walked in? I think that is what we would all like to accomplish with our own Holiday decorating. I have put together some of my own ideas which will hopefully inspire you to add your own personal touches to create the Spirit of Christmas in your home this season.

Unique Christmas Ribbon.

Holiday Ribbon makes a beautiful accent for just about everything and everywhere. Make simple bows in various sizes using Red Sheer Frost Ribbon or Gold Sheer Frost Ribbon and tie them to your door knobs, door knocker, chandeliers, Candle Holders, stair rails and mantle piece. You can get more elegant and use wire edged Sheer Pizzaz Gold Ribbon or Sheer Pizzaz Red Ribbon to tie around your crystal stem ware, around napkins as a napkin ring. A Perky Poinsettia Ribbon would dress up your vases and flower pots.

Decorating with Small Trees.

Buy inexpensive 2 foot Mixed Pine Trees and put them in your guest room, guest bath or kitchen, family room just about any place that could use a little touch of Christmas warmth. Decorate them in a theme with favorite Sports Ornaments, Nutcracker Suite Ornaments, Western Ornaments, Gingerbread Ornaments or candy. Why not decorate one for your hubby with Hunting Ornaments or Fishing Ornaments.

Using Table Runners or Sheer Drape Fabric.

Easy decorations for the dinner table or any long narrow table even your coffee table or fireplace mantle include using Embroidered Table Runners. You can create your own by using Sheer Pizzaz Drape Fabric down the center of the table or mantle. Add a pot of Silk Roses, Beaded Fruit Swag in the center of the table or run a length of Pine Garland down the center of the fabric. Then decorate with your chosen theme or create a special theme for your Christmas Dinner with a beautiful set of glass Holy Family Ornaments. Read our other Christmas Decorations Ideas.

Christmas Tree Stands

Stands for Artificial Trees:
After spending hundreds of dollars on your Artificial Prelit Christmas Tree or Artificial non-lit Christmas Tree, you want to have a stand that will display your new tree well. There are stands that hold a two foot tree and on up to those that hold a nine foot tree. One basic Christmas Tree Stand for Christmas Trees Artificial is simple to use, but these types should be setup on a cloth or carpet as they can scratch your floors. For more on Christmas Decorations Ideas.

Tree Stands with Rollers:
There are also stands with rollers on them such as the Artificial Christmas Tree Stand. These types of stands usually require no assembly as they are shipped completely intact. These stands also are of a heavier construction than the folding stands, so they usually last even longer.

Rotating Tree Stands:
The Rotating Christmas Tree Stands are a great edition as they allow you to show off the entire tree. For heavier trees there is the EZ Revolving Christmas Tree Stand which can handle up to 2000 tree lights and up to 150 pound artificial tree. The EZ stand is easy to cover with a Christmas Tree Skirt. Just remember, with this stand its E Z.

Stands for Live Trees:
Live trees most often require a Heavy Duty Live Tree Stand. This stand can handle a tree with a trunk up to 6 inches in diameter and up to 10 feet tall. It has a good size reservoir for water to help keep your tree fresh, but rather than crawling under your tree to check or add water just use the Live Christmas Tree Watering System to save your back.

Who Was Father Christmas?

Father Christmas.

Father Christmas dates back to the 1600s and was based on St Nicholas. St. Nicholas was the Bishop of Myra, a city in present day turkey during the 4th century. He was a kind hearted man and wanted to give to the poor and needy without them knowing. One story says that St. Nicholas climbed the roof of a house and dropped a bag of money down the chimney which landed in a stocking that a young girl had hung to dry. See our Santa with Baby Jesus Ornaments.
Father Christmas had a stout frame and wore a long green robe because green represented the coming of spring and the hope of new life. Sometimes his robe was trimmed with fur. He also sometimes had a wreath of holly on his head. He was a friend to all people and animals loved him too. Father Christmas flew over houses on an enchanted white horse on Christmas Eve and left presents of chocolate and fruit in shoes the children would leave out for him. Check out our Exquisite Santa Christmas Tree Topper.

Father Christmas in France.

In France Father Christmas was known as Pere Noel, here he has a donkey named Mistletoe to help him. In France homes are decorated with greenery and beautiful Christmas trees filled with ornaments. Special attention is paid to the creche or nativity scene. In French nativity sets you find figures of the Holy Family, sheep, wise men and also shop keepers, farmers, fisherman, townsfolk, dogs, cats etc. These represent people and things from all walks of life and are called les santons or little saints. On Christmas Eve the baby is added to the creche and most families gather to eat a large dinner. After dinner the family prepares for Pere Noel. Children fill their shoes with carrots and hay for Mistletoe and leave them by the fire with a glass of wine for Pere Noel. When all are asleep Pere Noel travels with Mistletoe and an overflowing bag of gifts to each home. He fills their shoes with candies and presents. See our beautiful Collectible Santa Figurines.

Baby Shower Gifts.

Baby Shower History.
No one really knows when Baby Showers actually came to be popular. It is speculated that something similar took place in Egyptian and Roman times but not proven. We do know that our early ancestors lived very rural lives without the modern conveniences that we have. Travel was a big ordeal and going anywhere was a major event. If you consider that a horse drawn wagon or carriage could travel (speed, distance in day) then you would plan on spending at least one night once you reached your destination. Being gone for long lengths of time was also difficult because most people grew their own crops and raised animals for food which required lots of attention. Without a shopping center close by people learned to be creative. Nearly everything was hand made. Even most farming tools were forged by a local black smith. We have adorable Baby First Christmas Ornament.
All of this meant that families and friends got together for very special occasions and the birth of a baby was very special. The gifts that would be given were hand made clothes, blankets, shoes and even furniture. We have darling Baby Shower Gifts.
From the fifties on life has become less rural and more modern technological advances have made life much easier. Through modern medical advances the sex of a baby can be determined before he or she is born. This has made it possible to have a Baby Shower early so that things can be in place before the baby comes. Baby Showers today provide a very fun way for us to show our love and support for our friends and family. These are adorable Babys First Winter Baby Bibs Sets.
