How Batteries Work

History of Batteries:

The battery was first invented by an Italian scientist named Alessandro Volta in 1800. Voltage is the electrical potential which is measured in volts, so we see if you really want to be remembered in history, invent something and have it named after you! Volta continued working and began stacking or piling the cells together to get more power, he thought that he had discovered an unlimited power source for mankind. The major drawback for these early wet batteries is they were held in large glass containers which could spill or even break, making them only useful for items that were stationary. This meant that they did not even have Battery Operated Candles With Batteries or even Battery Operated Lights like we do today. Something was needed to replace the liquid so that batteries could be moved and not stuck in one place. The answer came in a paste, the paste could be used in place of a liquid which became the electrolyte, this did not happen until late in the nineteenth century.

Battery Uses Today:
Each year it seems that more and more carry around products come out that can use batteries like Battery Candles, Battery Operated Lights, ranging from tiny pen light batteries to heavy duty flashlights. Batteries can be used to power a string of lights like the Multi Colored LED Battery Lights which use a simple 9V-Size Pile Alkaline Battery. Batteries are also used in many Battery Candles, which comes in very handy during storms when the power goes out and you still would like some light. Some of the candles can be ones like the Set Of Two Battery Candles. Even now you can buy Battery Operated 24 inch Artificial Lighted Christmas Wreaths. The possibilities are endless.

Holiday Gift Wrapping.

Wrapping Paper Options.
Everyone knows there is an abundance of Christmas wrapping paper available to the public. Sometimes we just want something a little different. Here are some tips to help you change things up a bit.
An option for wrapping paper is to decorate your own. You can find white and some colored papers on rolls at paper or stationary stores. Decide on a theme and use either a rubber stamp with black or better still colored ink and stamp your chosen image onto your paper. This works with stenciling as well. You can embellish your design by using a gold or colored paint pen to make scrolls, swirls or dots.
Dont forget tissue paper! Tissue is now coming in all kinds of colors and pre printed designs. Try spraying plain white or solid color tissue with a little multi of solid color glitter. It is great for wrapping soft items such as clothing or stuffed animals but is still delicate so rewrapping the item in cellophane wrap is not only very attractive but protective. Colored cellophane wrap is perfect for wrapping homemade backed goods or jars of jam.
Storing and Organizing your wrapping paper and supplies is much easier now with the Wrapping Paper Storage Bags. These will store up to 14 rolls of paper, 18 to 20 rolls of ribbon, bows, bags and gift boxes. There is a slot to feed the paper through so you can cut a straight line.

Trimming Your Gifts.
The most important part of gift wrapping is adding the final trims. The most popular trim is Ribbon. There are many styles and types of ribbon, such as grosgrain, Velvet Ribbon, Satin Wired Ribbon, curling ribbon, the list is almost endless. For a very elegant look there are sheer Organza ribbons in various widths and colors. I personally like the ones with a shimmer effect to them. Raffia is very attractive and also comes in many colors. For a more creative effect go to the notions counter at a fabric store and look at the different trims like cording and braid trims. These can add a very elegant touch to your gift. A hint here is that a small amount of clear glue on the ends of the trim will keep it from raveling.
Gift tags can be purchased pre printed or you can create them yourself. A great idea is to take greeting cards with pictures or scenes you like and cut them out using regular scissors or ones with a decorative edge. These can either be glued onto card stock, leaving room to write the information or hole punched and tied to the ribbon with the information written on the back of the picture.
The finishing touch is adding a sprig of greenery or an ornament. For instance if the gift is a Nutcracker you can add an Nutcracker Ornament, a Sports Ornament for a sports enthusiast or even a Coffee Ornament or Iced Latte for someone loves Coffee. What ever Gift Wrapping style you choose, like your gift, make it uniquely yours.

Decorating with Miniature Ornaments.

Small Christmas Trees.

There are many types of Small Christmas Trees. There are 2-4 foot tall Small Artificial Christmas Trees. You can find potted Live Christmas Trees from as small as 18 inches up to 42 inches tall. There are even Metal Ornament Trees or Stands. These range in size from ones about 10 inches tall that hold one ornament and Gold or Silver Metal Ornament Trees that are 32 inches tall and will hold 50 to 60 ornaments. These metal Christmas Ornament Trees can also be found in floor standing sizes up to 92 inches tall that will hold 100 or more ornaments. Metal Christmas Ornament Trees and stands are perfect for displaying collections of your most delicate ornaments. One popular and very elegant idea is to decorate one that is around 28 inches tall with Glass Finial Ornaments in your chosen color scheme and use it as a centerpiece with a few, elegant, sheer ribbon streamers on either side, down the center of the table. You can add a few miniature ornament balls, in co coordinating colors, with the ribbon to complete the look.

Miniature Ornaments.

There are a wide variety of Miniature Ornaments in a myriad of themes for Small Christmas Trees. There are complete Tree Trimming Kits that include matching ornament balls in two sizes plus a small final topper. These come in solid colors like Gold Glass Balls and in Multi Colored Ornament Assortments. These compliment any larger tree you might have decorated with the regular size clear or colored Glass Christmas Ornaments Balls. These assortments are sets of 10 matching glass ball ornaments in colors like Small Red Ornaments, Miniature Gold Ornament Balls and Silver Miniature Ornament Sets. These two types of Miniature Ornaments can be combined with Beautiful Beads and Bells Garland to create a very elegantly decorated tiny Christmas Tree.
If you prefer a more traditional theme there are Mini Snowmen, Short Chubby Santas and Father Christmas Sets of small glass ornaments. Then there are Miniature Wooden Ornaments and Miniature Santa Ornaments. All of these Ornament sets can be combined with Gingerbread Candy Garland to add to the comfy traditional Christmas decor.
A beautiful gift idea is to create a Brides Tree by decorating a tiny live Christmas Tree or Small Artificial one with Miniature Brides Tree Ornaments or Miniature Wedding Ornaments. Using the same idea you can create an adorable Baby First Christmas Ornament Tree by adding Miniature Ducks and Bears or Miniature Baby Ornaments to a small tree. You can even create the perfect gift for the chocolate lover by decorating a small tree with Miniature MandM Ornaments, add a strand of MandM Garland and maybe a strand of MandM Candy Novelty Lights. A Southwest or Western theme can be enhanced by decorating small trees with Wooden Western Ornaments, Cowboy Boots and Bandanas Garland and Red or Mixed Chili Pepper Lights Set.

Safe Candles

History of Candles:

Candles have been used as a source of light for thousands of years. In Europe they usually used tallow, which is a byproduct of fat from beef, but in the Middle East and Egypt they mostly used beeswax. The word candle that we use today comes from the Latin word candere, which means to flicker. Many industries rose and fall, and candle making raised for a very long time, it was due to be replaced, this time with kerosene. So wax candles that had been used for thousands of years were slowly or quickly, depending on where you lived, moved to just a small niche selling market, because of the invention electric bulb. Battery Candles and Battery Operated Lights are two examples of the new lighting revolution.

Flameless Battery Candles:
As many fire codes now prevented open flame candles for some services, people have turned to Battery Operated Lights or candles. The early battery operated candles, like the Set Of Two Battery Candles used a regular incandescent bulb, but there was no open flame. But the most recent type is the LED flameless candle, like the Battery Operated Candles With Batteries. These bulbs are cool to the touch, perfect children or anyone else for that matter. They are available in different color flames, they can also be a steady light or they can flicker like a real flame. These have become very popular over the last few years with churches, schools and neighborhood vigils or simple gatherings. Small Flickering Votive LED Battery Powered Candles have also become very popular in replacing candles in small places. In todays market you can even get scented flameless candles like a 3X6 Vanilla Scented Battery Wax Candles or ones that appear to have wax dripping from them like the Soft Realistic LED Unique Flameless Candles With Dripping Wax or the 4X6 Resin Dripping Wax Flameless Candles.
