Nativity decorations are the necessary foundation of many Christmas décors and displays worldwide. There is a wide range of Nativity statues and accessories available in many shapes, sizes and variations to suit every decorating style.
During the Christmas season, you might find Nativity decorations that are small enough and designed to be hung as ornaments on your real or artificial Christmas tree. These decorations vary in size and color, and some are illuminated or even animated. Churches sometimes display a Christmas tree decorated entirely of different depictions of the baby Jesus asleep in the manger. Other decorative sets include all of the characters and can be quite large.
One of the most popular Nativity scenes that you will see offered as Christmas decorations are the ones that are designed specifically to be displayed outdoors. These can be small enough to fit on a sidewalk and large enough that they require the entire length of a lawn in order to be exhibited. Nativity decorations are sometimes found in windows, on porches, lawns and sometimes even displayed on a rooftop much like you would see Santa and the reindeer presented during the Christmas holiday.
For the children, there are Nativity play sets and break-resistant resin Nativity sets available that can be used for the child to hear the story and be able to interact with the events that take place in the Bible. This gives the child a toy with which to use their imagination in play and also gives the child their own Nativity scene to arrange in their own room as part of their contribution to the holiday decorating of their home.
Also available for the Christmas holiday are Nativity wreaths that display the story in its entirety with smaller figurines assembled around the wreath. Other options include tapestries, wall hangings, and paintings that can be displayed during the Christmas holiday or year round if you were so inclined to do so. Many Christmas cards depict the manger scene on the front and these make great decorating ideas as well. Once you have received the cards, you can display them.
Another wonderful option is table top Nativity decorations. These are found most often inside of a home. They are perfect because they are available in many different sizes ranging from those that would cover an entire dining table to those that fit nicely on a coffee table or an end table. Some are extremely small and designed for the person who doesn’t have a lot of space for decorating. These smaller Nativity scenes will fit nicely on a shelf or on top of a book case. These are great ideas for the apartment dweller who may find themselves short on space but big on holiday spirit.
While some Nativity sets are made to allow the characters to be moved from one position to the other, still yet others are designed to be all one piece allowing for the manger scene to easily be displayed as well as be easily stored. No matter how you decide to honor the birth of the Christ Child, there are sure to be hundreds of options available to you to include a Nativity scene as part of your holiday décor.
