Nativity Play Set

View Our Online Store:  Christmas Nativity Scene Sets.

Nativity play setA Nativity play set is a wonderful form of holiday décor that encourages your children to have fun and learn about the birth of Jesus at the same time. You can find a Nativity play set made of durable materials such as plastic and wood.  There are also unbreakable Nativity scene sets available that are made of various different types of fabrics.

This is a great learning tool for your child, as well as a meaningful part of your family traditions that will be handed down through the generations.  Along with the story of the birth of Baby Jesus, you can use the pieces to visually stimulate your infant and small children which will lead to better information retention.  Visual aids such as a Nativity play set are a great way to find more than one way to communicate what you are trying to say. This would be a great tool for any Sunday school classroom: Christmas décor that the Sunday school teacher can use to illustrate the story of Baby Jesus, and then have the children relate it back using the set.

A major advantage to allowing the children to act out the Christmas story with the unbreakable figures is that it allows the child’s imagination to take them on the same journey that is told in the Bible.  By learning in this type of an environment, the child will gain a full understand of the subject matter in a more thorough light than can sometimes be depicted by books or classroom teachings alone. There’s nothing better than to share traditional Christmas writings and stories gathered around a set of figures the children can look at and touch.

By using a Nativity play set to interact with the different characters associated with the story of Jesus’ birth, your child will get to know the various different people involved and have a much deeper understanding of the Christmas story and why we celebrate it annually.  Many individuals, adults and children alike, get more from instruction if it is hands-on instruction as opposed to primarily being delivered in oral form or written form.  For this reason, it only makes sense that allowing a child to have the Nativity figurines in their hands and interact with them during play will make a much more profound statement than any other type of non-involvement teaching alone.

A play set involving the characters of this holy event, encourages children to recreate in their own voice the scenario under which Baby Jesus was born.  This will lead to a much better understanding of the story because now it is one that is told in their own words instead of the words of someone else which may be difficult for a young mind to understand.  Not only will it lead to a better understanding for the child but it will also aid the child in being able to relate the story to other children.  This is important because who better to tell a child a story than another child?

For many families, a Nativity play set is the first of the Christmas decorations out of the box, and the last to be packed away--helping children to learn and love the story of Christmas without risk to the family’s more fragile set.
