Outside Christmas Decorations Have Risen In Popularity

View Our Online Store:   Outdoor Christmas Decorations.

Outside Christmas DecorationSince outside Christmas decorations have become so popular, it’s quite fun to take some time with your family and go out driving around the town and different neighborhoods to see all the beautiful lighting displays. You will notice that as the holiday season approaches, everything around you begins to change. Town center’s will be transformed into festive displays of lights, home fronts and store fronts begin to put out their decorations and in my own opinion the mood becomes contagious and before you know it everywhere you look is decked out in festive holiday cheer for everyone to enjoy.

If you are putting up outside Christmas decorations for yourself here are some tips on what not to do with your decor:

1)      Don’t leave your outdoor Christmas decorations up past the month of January; no one in your neighborhood wants to see your holiday display a month after Christmas has ended and it will help you avoid paying some hefty fines from your homeowners association.

2)      Don’t be an electricity hog; hook up your holiday display to a timer so they turn on at sunset and turn off shortly after you go to bed. This could help you avoid a possible fire happening while your family is sleeping.

3)      Don’t attach too many strings of lights together without reading the safety guidelines. Some manufacturers limit how many strands of lights you can hook together safely, so make sure you take the time to read and remember the limit for your particular brand of lights.

4)      Don’t sting up your Christmas lights without testing them first and replacing blown out bulbs and fuses.

5)      Don’t be careless in putting up your Christmas lights; take the time to arrange them in a cohesive pattern, don’t just haphazardly toss them up to look like a blob on your bushes or trees.

6)      Don’t use different solid color lights in your outdoor Christmas decorations, try to use just one specific color or pattern; white lights, blue, purple, or multi-colored strands.

7)      Don’t mix blinking patterns and constant lights. If you have different lighting arrangements or decorations set them up to all blink in a pattern, or even set them to music by computer.

8)      Don’t just throw your decorations in a box when you store them away for the season, purchase specialty boxes and decoration storage bags, this will make next seasons decorating much less of a hassle.

9)      Don’t try and decorate before coming up with a plan or theme. This will prove to be especially helpful if you are in a new home or if it’s your first time decorating.

10)  Last but not least, don’t use products intended for indoor use as outdoor Christmas decorations. Outdoor decorations are specifically made to withstand changing climates.

Keep in mind there are many other “don,ts” that have not made it on this list. These are just some tips on what you should try to avoid so you do not make the same mistakes others have made with their decorating disasters and past experiences. This short list may help you save time and energy in the long run and make your holiday that much more enjoyable for everyone around.
