For families with toddlers or young children, a slim artificial Christmas tree is a wise buying decision. Just as soon as the holiday season starts, every retail outlet from the local grocery store, to every suburban mall is decorated to the hilt. At this point, children ages three and older get antsy and are dying to pull boxes filled with Christmas decorations, out of storage to begin decorating the magical Christmas tree. Having a pre lit artificial tree as part of your family tradition is a wonderful way to way to keep the mess and fuss out of holiday decorating, making more time for being together. They also want the fulfillment of helping assemble it. Because an artificial tree will not dry out and shed needles, you can put it up earlier in the season and keep it up past New Years Day. This brings us to the next subject, your kid’s safety.
You don’t have to be Smokey the Bear to know that a dry pine tree will burn. Most people do not realize exactly how fast it will burn, and how incredibly hot the flames will get. Very few structures can withstand the heat of a burning Christmas tree without catching on fire. You can find a plethora of videos on the internet that show a dry Christmas tree burning. Just take a look and you will be amazed and scared at the same time. All modern day artificial trees are made of metal and fire resistant polymer materials. The geometry of a slim artificial Christmas tree is much more ergonomically friendly for small kids to decorate. Other trees that are wide on the bottom require small kids to stand on something and lean in toward the tree in order to trim the upper branches. They could easily lose their balance and fall right into the tree, knocking it over and getting badly hurt in the process. We don’t want to think about the potential injuries this could cause. A slim artificial Christmas tree will allow them to reach the upper branches at an arm’s length away, without leaning, or falling. As kids play in the house with their new Christmas toys, they are likely to run about the living area where the tree is kept. They don’t always dodge objects the way they should at high speeds in their slippers. A slim artificial Christmas tree, being much narrower, will take up less space, and they are less likely to run into it and tip it over.
Toddlers like to walk about the Christmas tree looking at all the pretty, shiny objects, and beautifully colored Christmas lights. They innocently reach for things as they discover their new world. If they grab the edge of a wide tree branch and manage to pull down with all of their weight, there is a possibility that the tree will come down on top of them. A slim artificial Christmas tree has shorter branches at the bottom than a normal pine tree, and this makes the tree more balanced and much more unlikely to tip over. If we can keep find ways to keep the holidays safe, we will be able to enjoy them without worry.
