Peaceful Parish German Christmas Ornaments.

Our Price: $27.67

Our peaceful parish German Christmas ornaments are 3.5 inches in diameter. The German Christmas ornaments are soft gold around the edge, with iridescent and frosted glitter highlights. The front of the German Christmas ornaments shows a soft brown church that has a tall steeple with a cross on the top. The German Christmas ornaments church has a red glitter roof and red, gold and pale green stained glass windows. The scene around the peaceful German Christmas ornaments church consists of a small pine tree in front of the church and a larger one at the rear of the church. There is a row of icy, sliver, snowcapped mountains behind the German Christmas ornaments church, with icy clouds above. The whole scene has a striking 3-D look to it that highlighted by iridescent glitter on the clouds and frosted glitter for the snow on the mountains and on the ground around the German Christmas ornaments church. The sky above the German Christmas ornaments church is ivory white. The strikingly beautiful scene is repeated on the back of the German Christmas ornaments church.

The Wooden Church Crusade History.
When Germany was divided after World War ll, Baron Henning Von Royk-Lewinski and Richard Kinzer, the former president of Burlington Mills, founded the “Wooden Church Crusade”, a charitable organization established to build churches in war torn areas of West Germany. It was their goal to build as many churches as there were American States at that time and when completed their efforts resulted in more than 25 churches being built. They wanted the ringing of the bells in these churches to be a reminder to everyone in the Western communities that with God came peace, and the bells would also toll loudly enough to give those across the Eastern border hope for such peace. Every church has become a symbol for the solidarity between the United States of America and former Western Germany in the fight against communism and the fight for peace.

Pinecones.
Many of the first Christmas ornaments were modeled after forms that are found in nature. Pinecones, which grow abundantly throughout forests, were one of the first ornament shapes glassblowers created. Due to their abundance, pinecones symbolize motherhood and fertility. By giving this hand blown pinecone ornament to a young bride and groom, their marriage will be blessed with the gift of family.
There are about 100 species of pines and pine cones. Pines and pinecones are found in a wide range of environments, but they most often grow in sandy or rocky soils. Pines and pinecones belong to a group of plants called conifers. All conifers reproduce by means of cones that produce pollen and seeds. A little known fact is that pine trees bare both male and female cones. The male pinecones typically measure less than one inch in length. The female pinecones are much larger and have woody scales. In the spring, the male pinecones produce enormous quantities of pollen. The wind carries the pollen to egg cells attached to the scales of female pinecones. The pollen fertilizes the egg cells, which then develop into seeds. The seeds of most pine trees have wing like parts that cause the seeds to blow as far as 100 feet from the parent tree.
