These 3 inch cat Christmas kittens are laying on the floor with the end of a dark magenta ball of yarn in the cat Christmas gift mouth. The ball is resting between the front paws of the light grey Christmas kitten. The cat Christmas tree ornaments have dark grey paws, tail, and nose. The blue eyes of an angel kitten make the white feathered angel wings with iridescent glitter stand out. A gold halo is hovering around the Christmas kitten’s left ear. This divine feline will hang by a gold lame cord.
Cat’s eyes
A cats eye color is genetically connected to the color of their coat.
Pointed cats, like the Siamese, always have blue eyes.
White cats and cats with a lot of white markings can have blue, green, gold or copper eyes or one blue eye and one green or gold eye.
Other cats can have green, gold or copper eyes but not blue eyes. The most common colors are greenish yellow to gold but sometimes can extend to deep green or brilliant copper.
Pointed Cats
Cats with dark faces, paws and tails with color that gets lighter on the body are called pointed cats, like the Siamese, but not all pointed cats are Siamese. The points on a pointed cat become darker as they grow older.
There are different color patterns of Pointed cats;
Seal points have dark brown faces, paws and tails with a body color of light brown to ivory.
Blue points have gray faces, paws and tails and light gray or beige bodies.
Lynx points have tabby faces, paws and tails and any of the colors of tabbies such as blue or red while the body color shows some ‘shadow’ tabby markings as the cat gets older.
Tortie Points have tortoiseshell faces, paws and tails.
Blue Cream Points have blue and cream faces, paws and tails.
There are also patched tabby points and Pointed cats with white markings, though the markings are sometimes hard to find in the white fur.
