Cat’s Eyes.
A cats eye color is genetically connected to the color of their coat.
Pointed cats, like the Siamese, always have blue eyes.
White cats and cats with a lot of white markings can have blue, green, gold or copper eyes or one blue eye and one green or gold eye.
Other cats can have green, gold or copper eyes but not blue eyes. The most common colors are greenish yellow to gold but sometimes can extend to deep green or brilliant copper.
Tortoiseshell or Torties.
The tortoiseshell color pattern is inherited and because of this male tortoiseshell cats are extremely rare. Their colors are mixed or mottled with very little or no white fur. The colors can be a mix of either black and red or blue and cream. They usually have copper or yellow eyes. The Celts thought of them as lucky and some people believed that if you rubbed their tail on a wart, the wart would go away.
