The Tradition of Birthdays.
Birthday is the name given to the anniversary of the day we were born. It is celebrated by a party with friends and family bringing gifts for the person who’s Birthday it is. It is also customary to treat people especially well on their Birthday. Select this link to view our Western Christmas Ornaments.
Birthday Celebrations are not universal. Some people prefer name day celebrations instead. There are some who do not celebrate either because they consider the origin of such festivals as Birthdays, Christmas and Easter to be pagan. Then there are some of us who just don’t like to be reminded that we are getting older. Select this link to view our Music Boxes.
Birthday Cakes are usually elaborately decorated and some times follow a theme having to do with a talent or interest of the Birthday person. Select this link to view our People and Profession Tree Ornaments.
The Birthday Cake Tradition is for the cake to be presented covered with the same number of lit candles as the persons age. The Birthday person makes a wish and tries to blow out all the candles in one breath. If successful and he or she does not tell anyone the wish, then it is supposed to come true. Some people add an extra candle, “One to Grow On,” to help bring the Birthday person extra luck during the year. Select this link to view our Christmas Books.
Stars.
Sparkling and twinkling stars have always fascinated mankind. Infinitely far away, they lead us through the dark night, as did the Star of Bethlehem that showed the Magi the way to the manger where Jesus was born. Traditionally, stars are placed on top of the Christmas tree to help us remember the significant roles stars have played in Christian history. As a symbol of guidance and faith, stars are one of the oldest Christmas ornaments glassblowers have created. Select this link to view our Unique Baby Gifts.
Caring for your Christmas Ornaments.
To care for and protect your Christmas ornaments for years to come, please be mindful of the following suggestions. Wrap your ornaments individually in 24 Anti Tarnish Tissue Paper Sheets and pack your ornaments securely in one of our sturdy Ornament Storage Boxes, making sure not to place too many layers in a single box. One layer is ideal. The box should be very sturdy and made of paper. Plastic bubble wrap and or plastic storage containers do not allow the ornaments to have proper ventilation. Particularly if the ornaments are stored in a warm place like an attic, or in a humid place like a basement. Also be sure to take care to store your holiday ornaments in a safe, dry place away from water, sun or fluorescent lights and other outside elements. Check out all of our Glass Ornaments.
