Our curly silver Garlands are 15 feet long and 2½ inches wide. These Garlands consist of textured silver Foil strips that are curled into loops. The tops of the loops and the open ends have been sliced into very thin strips. This gives the Garlands a delicate and very elegant look. Strips of shiny red and green Tinsel have been added throughout the Garlands for extra color and texture. Select this link to view our Decorated Country Holiday Garland.
A standard doorway is 83 inches from the top of the trim molding to the floor and 41 inches across, including the trim molding. One 9 foot strand of pine garland will stretch across the top of a standard doorway and the ends will hang a little more than a foot and a half below the door knob. One 12 foot strand of Tinsel Garland will stretch across the top of a standard doorway and the ends will hang down just below the door knob. With a single swag the ends will hang almost to the window sill. A 9 foot strand of Artificial Pine Garland with a single swag will hang about half way down each side of the window. To protect from heat and sparks, make sure the garland does not swag in the front and the ends hang back against the bricks. Select this link to view our Colorful Christmas Garland.
There are many ways to secure Garland to your walls, stairs, or fireplace mantel. It is basically a personal decision. You can use anything from thumbtacks, small finishing nails, ticky tack or tape. It just depends on the surface and finish of the object you are securing the Garland to. I do recommend that you not put a hole in your doorway or window trim molding. Instead, if you need to use a nail or thumb tack, use a very skinny one. There are very short and narrow finishing nails available at most hardware stores. If you must use a nail put them in the wall just above the trim molding at each corner, that way the holes will be small and less noticeable. Attach the garland to the nail by double wrapping the Tinsel Garland or a Pine Garland tip around the small nail to hold it in place.
