This Christmas Light Tester
will allow you to easily find any burned out bulbs on your Indoor Christmas Light. With a push of a button you can locate your Christmas light string problem. The Christmas light tester will test bulbs, fuses, and the light strand. The light tester has a built in bulb remover to remove bulbs from the light set easily. It comes with 2 “LR44” watch batteries. Instructions on use and care of the Christmas light tester are included. Select to see a complete listing of our Christmas Decorations Ideas.
To use the light tester, remove the battery cover and insert the 2 batteries into the battery compartment. Replace the batter cover and test the batteries by holding down the push button for 4 seconds. If the LED flashes on then off the batteries are okay. If the LED does not flash, check the batteries are correctly installed, clean, and in good condition. Select to view our collection of Outdoor Christmas Decorations.
To remove bulbs using the Bulb Remover, simply insert the metal plate between the bulb husk and the bulb base. Gently rotate the bulb remover to the left and right until the bulb is loose enough to pull out with your fingers. Note: Some light strands have what is known as a “locking” base or clip. These require you to unlock the bulb husk from the base in order to remove the bulb. If you are unsure if you have locking bases on your light strand, then refer to the light strand manufacturer’s instructions on bulb removal. Check out our selection of Holiday Lights and Decorative Party Lights.
To test the light bulbs simply remove the bulb using the bulb remover. Hold the bulb by the tip and gently push the 2 wire contacts against the two metal plates located on the bulb tester. Both of the wire contacts should be touching separate metal plates. If the light bulb lights, then it is good. If the light bulb does not light, try readjusting the wire contacts on the base of the bulb and test the bulb again. If the light bulb still does not light, then discard the bulb. Repeated bulb testing or holding lit bulbs against the light tester for long periods of time will drain the batteries rapidly.
To test the light fuses simply remove the fuses from the light strand. Hold the fuse in the middle and gently press it against the Fuse Tester. If the red LED light lights up then the fuse is good. If the LED does not light up, check to make sure the fuse is clean. Retest the fuse again. If the LED does not light up then discard the fuse and replace with a new one.
To test your Indoor Christmas Light, count the number of wires that make up your light strand and follow instructions for the corresponding number of wires. Select this link to view our Safety and Care Instructions for Christmas lights.
