The Grinch Ornaments.

Our Price: $3.68

Our Grinch Ornaments are 3½ inches tall and hang from a gold cord. The Grinch is sitting on a light blue gift box decorated with iridescent glitter and yellow ribbon. The Grinch is wearing a red Santa hat and coat with a black belt and iridescent white glitter on the pompom, cuffs, collar and hem. He is all green with sinister looking thin black eyebrows that curl at the tops. His eyes are yellow and so is his mouth. He has long fingers and his toes curl up on the ends. He looks like he is covered with fur. This Grinch Ornament will stand on a mantle or shelf or hang on your Christmas tree. Select this link to view our Santa Ornaments.

Description of the Grinch.
In the TV specials, he features a bulbous stomach, lengthy fingers, and is covered in green hair. He has red pupils and yellow eye balls. His fingers and feet look longer due to the long portions of hair coming off of them. He has large, sinister black eyebrows and deep lines on his forehead. His mouth lines are subtle when he is in a neutral mood, yet very stretched when he is happy. He has a pair of brooding, deep set, ovoid eyes with red irises, although they become more round and with blue irises after his conversion. Another physical characteristic that changes after the Grinch learns the true meaning of Christmas is his face which becomes somewhat heart shaped as he smiles broadly. A long neck is prominent, with layers of green fur coming down it. He often walks in stealth mode when around the Whos. His only friend is his pet dog, Max, a big eyed pooch who loves his master despite all. Max also is an unwitting accomplice in the Grinch's plots; he is forced into being a "reindeer" and pulling the sleigh with all the Whos' Christmas trappings inside. The Christmas Crib
In the year 1220 St, Francis of Assissi visited Bethlehem. He was so impressed with the way Christmas was celebrated there, that he asked the Pope for permission to recreate it in his own village in Italy. Select this link to view our Christmas Ornament Sets.
He built a manger in a cave and placed a stone image of the baby Jesus in it. He surrounded the manger with real animals and said a Mass. The people who came felt as though they had been at the actual birth of the Baby Jesus. Select this link to view our Collectible Santa Claus Gifts.
Before long, wooden nativity scenes were displayed in churches and homes across Europe. Today they continue to be popular as a way of reminding us that Christmas is really about the birth of Christ. Select this link to view our Santa Suits.
The tradition was brought into Spain from Naples. In Catalonia, a figure is included that represents a Catalan peasant. In Provence, in the South of France, nativity scenes use small clay figurines called Santon, which represent the traditional trades and professions of old Provence. The Santons are then collected as art or craft objects. Select this link to view our People and Profession Tree Ornaments.
A nativity scene, also called a crib or crèche, generally depicts the birthplace of Jesus. Nativity scenes usually show Jesus in a small crib or manger, with Joseph, and Mary in a barn intended for the housing of animals. A mule, ox, sheep, and sometimes other barnyard animals, surround them. Often added are the three wise men, shepherds, angels and the Star of Bethlehem.
