Live Christmas Tree Watering System Note:
Your Christmas Tree Waterer has a dip stick with a round red ball handle which makes it easier to test the tree watering pan level. Make sure that you measure the amount of water that will fit into your tree stand reservoir. Never add more water than the tree stand reservoir will hold to prevent an overflow that could harm your carpet, floors, or tree skirt.

Live Christmas Tree Watering and Care.
1. If you don't plan to put the tree up right away, saw one inch off of the bottom of the tree trunk, place the tree in a bucket of fresh water, then stand it upright in a shady area. Now is a good time to check for critters and insect egg masses.
2. When you bring the tree indoors, saw 1/2 to one inch off of the base of the trunk. Within 5 hours place your tree in a Christmas tree stand that holds around one gallon of water. Check out our state of the art Christmas Tree Stands.
3. Locate your tree in the coolest part of the room and away from fireplaces and heating ducts to keep the tree moist and prevent the loss of valuable moisture.
4. Always keep the tree well-supplied with water. Check the water level in the stand several times each day with the dip stick. Trees absorb a lot of water and may use several quarts of water a day.
5. Never let the water level fall below the base of the tree. If this occurs, the newly cut end can seal over, preventing further water absorption. If this happens the tree must then be taken down and a fresh cut made to allow water absorption.
