These 13 inch baby girl stockings have a white glittered cutout snowman angel with a gold halo atop his head and yellow felt angel wings held steady by a brown stick. What is a snowman without two black coal eyes, a carrot nose and two red decorative buttons on his stomach? The snowman is lined with a thin yellow embroidery stitch. The body of the stockings are made of soft pink felt fabric. Embroidered in mint green on the front of the stocking are two phrases “Precious Little One…” and “You Make the Season Bright!”. To highlight the stocking there is a soft mint green cuff that is embroidered in white thread with the phrase “Baby’s First Christmas”. At the bottom of the mint green felt cuff are four glittered white round pompoms. There is a yellow star appliqué in the sky with a clear vinyl pocket that will hold a picture of the baby. The clear vinyl pocket is made to hold a one inch square picture. Too cute! On the toe of the stocking is an appliqué of a yellow and red Christmas ornament. The stocking front and back are connected with a large charcoal thread whip stitch. The inside front of the stocking is lined with white satin fabric. This stocking will make a wonderful gift and is the perfect size for baby stocking stuffers. Select this link to view our Baby First Christmas Stockings.
What are Christmas Stockings?
Christmas stockings originated in Germany, and involve hanging an empty sock or sock shaped bag on Christmas Eve for Santa to fill with special small gifts. These small items are often referred to as stocking stuffers. In some cases the contents of the stocking might be the only gifts a child will receive for Christmas. Stockings are hung at the foot of the child’s bed, on the fireplace mantle or sometimes lined around the base of the Christmas tree. Select this link to view our Elf Costumes.
The types of gifts usually placed in the stocking include, a piece of favorite food, fruit or treat, small toys or doll, bubble bath or cologne, crayons, coloring books. Select this link to view our Baby First Christmas Ornaments.
Originally, children used one of their everyday socks, but today stores carry a tremendous variety of styles and sizes of Christmas stockings, from small and conservative, to long and stretchy, to gigantic. Select this link to view our Elf Costumes.
Many families create their own Christmas stockings with each family member's name applied so that Santa will not be confused about which stocking belongs to which family member. Select this link to view our Unique Baby Gifts.
