Do not use the holiday lights outdoors unless the patio lights are marked suitable for indoor and outdoor use. When outdoor lights are used in outdoor applications, connect the outdoor lights to a ground fault circuit interrupting [GFCI] electrical outlets. Do not mount or place lights near gas or electric heaters, fireplaces, candles or other similar sources of heat.
Do not secure the holiday light sets with staples or nails, or place on sharp hooks.
Do not let the holiday light bulbs rest on the holiday lights supply cord or on any wire.
Unplug the light bulbs when leaving the house, when retiring for the night, or if the lights are left unattended.
