Ninety-one percent (91%) of the reported structure fires started by wax and wick candles occurred in homes (one and two family dwellings, manufactured housing and apartments). Sixty-nine percent of the fires began in one- and two-family dwellings while 22% began in apartments. Two percent occurred in mercantile or business properties.
