With a long metal wire going from the top of his head to the bottom of his body the Fuzzy Snowman is perfect to hang on any door or Christmas tree. To help keep our Snowman from getting to cold and turning to ice he is wearing a green and white body suit with red trim, where the red and green parts are made of a sparkly material. He is also wearing the traditional black boots and a blue and white ski cap and a carrot nose to top it all off. In his hands is a broom so he is ready to help clean up any Christmas mess or perhaps he has just been watching a young wizard fly around to much. Select this link to view our Snowman Ornaments.
Formation of Snowflakes.
A snowflake consists of up to 100 snow crystals clumped together. Snow crystals grow from water vapor, the evaporated form of water, in clouds. Amazingly Enough, all of the billions of snow crystals in existence have 6 sides and grow in either plate like or columnar patterns, depending on the air temperature and the amount of moisture present. Plate like snow crystals appear as flat, six sided plates. In cold, humid air, they grow in the shape of 6 pointed stars. Columnar snow crystals resemble long needles of ice. However, high humidity may cause them to become hollow columns. Some snowflakes have been known to measure 4 inches in diameter! Select this link to view our Snowman Christmas Figurines.
There are 2 ways that we get pictures and information about snowflakes to make beautiful Christmas ornament snowflakes. Snowflakes can be caught on a black surface and looked at with a microscope. Snowflakes can also be made to fall into a plastic solution which coats the snowflake and hardens quickly. As the flake melts, it leaves a hollow shell, or cast, which retains the exact shape of the flake. Select this link to view our Christmas Gifts.
Snowman Information.
Long ago, when toys were scarce and the closest neighbors could be miles away, children looked forward to the year’s first snowfall with great anticipation. This wonderful gift from heaven afforded them a chance to go sledding, but even more exciting, it gave them the opportunity to create a new companion, their very own snowman! Each of the jolly fellows had its own distinct expression and life expectancy. With a carrot from the pantry, coal from the furnace, twigs from the yard, an old hat and sometimes a pipe borrowed from Grandfather, a child would magically build a snowman. Their man of snow would disappear when the weather warmed, but lived on in childhood memories. Select this link to view our Christmas Figurines.
Our snowy friends dance and that only children are able to see them. After a snowman has been built and left alone outdoors in the frigid air, he begins to come to life! The snowman dances to amuse and captivate the children who watch, for it brings happiness to his rather short life. So during Christmas, if your children seem to be staring out the window in a daze, do not worry, most likely a dancing snowman is entertaining them. During the winter months, the snowman stands in the garden with his heart full of joy and snowflakes dancing around him. Children, dressed in warm winter jackets and thick wooly hats, laugh and throw snowballs. The snowman is the center of fun and games. Unfortunately, winter ends, and spring arrives again. The children begin to desire the warm summer sun and hardly pay attention to the snowman. His heart becomes sad, and tears begin to roll down his cheeks. Soon, the tears gradually dry up. The next day, the snowman will disappear from the garden. Select this link to view our Snowman Christmas Ornaments.
The Icicle.
It is said that one winter a little child was wandering in the forest during a terrible snowstorm. A gentle fir tree welcomed the child into its branches and sheltered the child through the night. In the morning, the child was very grateful and thanked the tree many times for its shelter. After the child left, the tree learned that the child was a Christkind, an innocent child of Christ. Proud of its act, the tree wept with joy. Icicles formed and glistened beautifully in the sun. Icicles symbolize the strength of winter and the brilliance of a good deed.
