Siamese and Burmese Cats:

The Siamese cat is the most popular short haired cat. It is best known for its fine glossy color point coat. There are two breeds of Siamese cats, the seal point and the blue point.
1) The seal point is the common cat of Siam (now Thailand). Their bodies are light fawn, but the ears, face, feet, and tail are seal brown. These markings are called “points.” The eyes are blue and may be slightly crossed. The tail is sometimes kinked.
2) The blue-point Siamese has the same body and eye color within a year of birth. The fur on the trunk of its body is a solid light color.
The points are one of four colors; blue, Chocolate, lilac or seal brown. Kittens are born white but develop their adult color within a year. The Siamese cat is a loving pet that seems less independent than other breads of cats. These cats are gentle and affectionate, and keenly dependent upon human beings. Their voices are loud and mournful until they get attention. The Siamese has a long, slender, medium sized body and thin tails. Their legs are slim and its paws are small. Their long wedge shaped head has straight sides and long pointed ears. The Siamese cat has almond shaped eyes. The Siamese originated in Thailand (formerly called Siam). They were royal property living in guarded palaces and temples. In 1884 a pair of Siamese were brought to Britain. Their offspring won many prizes at cat shows and the breed soon gained world wide popularity.
