Purchasing a new Christmas tree should not be a spur of the moment decision, keep in mind your new tree should last 15 years. A common mistake is to go out with the intention of buying the tallest, widest tree to be found, only to get home and find it doesn’t fit. The most important thing to consider is, where are you going to display your tree? Most home ceilings are 8 feet tall, so a 7.5 foot tree, including the stand, should allow room for a tree topper. If you have vaulted or custom ceilings you may want to consider a taller tree. Select this link to view our full line of Christmas trees artificial.
When you remove the tree from the box the branches of the tree will be tied together. The best way to shape the tree is to let down one row of branches at a time, tie the rest back up and shape the branches you let down. If you did not purchase a pre lit tree and want to string your own lights on, this is when you would want to do so. Select this link to see our indoor Christmas light sets. It’s much easier to put the lights on the tree as you shape it. Select this link to see our full line of Christmas outdoor lights. This way the other branches are up and out of the way until you are ready for them. Then you just drop down one more row at a time until the section is done. Repeat the process with each section of the tree. For more information view our information page on Pre Lit artificial Christmas Trees and Pre Lit Christmas Trees.
There are several types of power strips available. Select this link to view our full line of power strips and power protection supplies. There are many types of remote devices that make it easy to turn your Christmas lights on or off while you are sitting down reading or watching TV. There are also timers for programming your lights to come on and turn off automatically at a set time everyday. These can save you time, and help to increase the life of your Christmas lights. They also add security in knowing that your lights will not remain on all day and all night. Select this link to view our full line of Christmas tree lights and outdoor decorations.
Flocking Christmas trees became popular in the late 1800’s with the early method being to sprinkle the tree with water, give it a shake, then sprinkle it with flour. In 1926 the Milwaukee Telephone company took a 75 foot telephone pole, studded with sockets, sunk it into a hole filled with cement. They then put four hundred average sized trees into each socket and arranged each tree to look like a single branch on a giant tree.
