How to Smoke a Cigar.
Prepare the cigar by making sure it is properly cut. A cigar cutter would work best, the cut needs to be sharp so that the cigar will burn evenly.
Remove the wrapper from your cigar. Some smokers prefer to leave the wrapper on until it falls off itself but it is considered rude to show off the brand of cigar that you are smoking.
Light the cigar by holding the flame up to the end and suck lightly to draw the flame to the tip. Many prefer to use wooden matches or butane lighters.
Check to make sure the cigar is fully lit. Turn the lit end towards your mouth and gently blow on it, the lit areas will light up orange.
Now it is ready to be smoked. Place the cigar up to your mouth and draw in smoke. Hold the smoke in your mouth for a few seconds to taste it and then let it go. Some people say that it’s usually not a good idea to inhale cigar smoke. Cigars can sometimes last 2-3 hours and you want to make sure that you rotate the cigar to maintain an even burn.
When you are done with your cigar, make sure you extinguish it. You can do this by setting it aside in the ashtray; the cigar will naturally extinguish itself if you haven’t puffed on it for a couple of minutes.
Cigar Tips.
Storing cigars in a humidor allows them to last longer.
If your cigar keeps going out then it means you are not puffing on it frequent enough or it’s not a good quality cigar.
You can enhance your cigar experience by having a drink with it.
Smoking your cigar in windy conditions can cause ashes to blow into your eyes or your cigar to burn uneven or fast.
There’s no need to constantly ash your cigar, many cigars will have 1 to 1.5 inch ashes. Check out our Glass Ornaments for your Christmas tree.
