The 4½ Inch Golfing Santa Claus
finds his putts might be more accurate if he uses the pool table technique instead of the traditional putting position. The Santa Ornaments are down on his knees using the hand grip of his putter as a pool cue to in an attempt to put his next putt on the green. Santa is wearing a red Tam O’shanter, red shirt with green collar, red pants, blue and white striped socks and orange and white shoes with blue stripes. This Santa Pool Putting Ornament hangs on your Christmas tree by a gold cord. Select to see a complete listing of our Christmas Decorations Ideas.

Types of Golf Strokes.

Driving off the Tee.
For this shot a No. 1 wooden club or driver is used, although an iron may also be chosen, depending upon the length of the hole, hazards or layout of the course.
Shooting on the Fairway.
This shot is played off either the fairway or the rough according to where the player fids his ball after he has driven off the tee. The club used depends on the distance to the green and the ‘lie’ of the ball but is usually another wood or and iron. Some professionals play the long iron shot, this club has a slightly lofted face.
Getting Out of a Bunker.
Bunkers are located at various points along the course and especially near the green, to catch the golfer who makes mistakes. To get out of a bunker, it is nearly always necessary to use an extremely lofted iron club. The most effective shot from a bunker is known as an explosion or blast shot, which sends the ball high in an effort to land it on the green. If the shot is correctly made the ball will stop on the green ad not roll off the opposite side.
Sinking the Ball.
Once the ball is on the green, the purpose of the player is to sink the ball with the fewest possible strokes. For this, he delicately strokes the ball with a putter, an iron club with short shaft and almost vertical face. There is no general agreement among golf players as the best and most accurate way to use the putter. The player taking the fewest number of strokes between the tee and the cup wins the hole, according to established golf rules commonly used. Check out our selection of Sports Ornaments.
