Using The Christmas Manger For Decorating

View Our Online Store:  Christmas Nativity Scene.

Ah, the Christmas Manger scene. For many people, this is exactly what the Holidays are about, nothing more and nothing less.  There are more varieties of a Christmas Manger scene than maybe even differing versions of Santa.  Many people include this in their Holiday decorating both inside and outside of their homes.  There are some that use the nativity scene as their only holiday decorations.

Most people know what a Christmas Manger is, but for those that don't, here is a brief description.  Thousands of years ago, a baby, Jesus, was born to a woman named Mary.  He is the son of God.  Manger sets include, but are not limited to, baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph, Mary's husband, all set in a manger.  Some would say that it looks like an old stable.  Jesus' birth is celebrated on Christmas day, and, for many people this is exactly what the Holidays are about.

A Christmas Manger set can have many parts to it.  Some sets are kept simple with Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Others offer an angel above the nativity scene.  Some sets come much more elaborate.  They include animals such as donkeys, oxen, camels, and cows, to name a few.  Some may also include the Three Wise Men that were said to know of Jesus' birth and visit him in the stable.  With the Wise Men would be the three gifts that they brought as well as the camels they rode on.  Others get even more elaborate and include the Inn where Mary and Joseph were turned away, including the Inn keeper.  There are also scene sets with palm trees, fences, hay bales, and the list goes on.

Most companies that produce a Christmas Manger set produce them in mass quantities.  That can be a great benefit if one of the nativity features gets lost or broken.  Since there are sets that can be purchased for indoor and outdoor use, the decision is really up to the purchaser as far as which one they would want to purchase. Many indoor sets are made of different types of wood, ceramics, glass, and even crystal.  There are several favorite Christmas characters that one can purchase that are portraying the nativity scene.  These tend to be very popular, not only because one can enjoy the manger scene, but also because on can include some of their favorite Holiday characters.  Thanks to the internet, the selection is virtually endless, and they can be purchased almost anywhere in the world.

Outdoor scenes can also be made of wood, but many are made of plastic or a combination of other materials. Many are lit or are easily illuminated by placing an outdoor spot light on it.  These sets are also offered in an inflatable format with a light inside.  These can also be very simple with just Jesus, Mary and Joseph.  Ones that are made in plastic and wood tend to have more accessories to them than the inflatable ones.  Many times, wooden and plastic scenes have the Three Wise Men, camels, and other animals as options to add to the scene.
